The article is devoted to the consideration of one of the themes of the composer’s creativity in Armenia, the origin of which was due to the tragic reality that developed in Armenia as a result of the earthquake on December 7, 1988. The echoes of the tragedy acquired the meaning of an artistic symbol in the work of graduates and teachers of the Yerevan Conservatory. Among them are A. Harutyunyan, V. Balyan, G. Chtchyan, E. Ej. Sadoyan, M. Israelyan, E. Hayrapetyan, A. Babayan, M. Kokzhaev, S. Lusikyan, D. Aladzhyan, S. Rostomyan, S. Sukiasyan other. The works examined by us reflect a wide panorama of genre solutions, ideological-figurative spheres, bright trends in the composer’s experience of the 20th century, on the one hand, and on the other, the uniqueness of the artistic aspirations and creative searches of the authors.
